I should update.
I'm really heartbroken right now. I can't stand to see hubby going through this radiotherapy for his cancer.
Because it's treating his abdomen, he's just so nauseous.
The routine has been: get up in the morning, give hubby big breakfast as main meal of the day, give him anti-nausea tablet mid-morning. He's fine in the mornings - just very tired.
Then he eats at very light lunch at 1.30pm. Then he takes another tablet an hour before his treatment (usually at 5pm), then he comes home, and an hour later he starts to throw up. Since he doesn't have anything in his stomach, he throw up bile. It's very painful for him. This goes on for about two hours, then he falls asleep.
He gets up at midnight feeling better, I make him some toast and give him a drink, and then he goes back to sleep.
He looks so sad and it's so horrible for him. My poor angel.
Hopefully, it'll all be over by our wedding anniversary in February.
I'm not in the right frame of mind to blog a lot - I'm also really busy finishing the PhD and I start my new job next week. So sorry for not being around heaps. I just feel really drained.

...oh Jezzy, that IS awful to watch. I can't imagine it! I know what it's like to be nauseated and barf no matter what at one time of day for months on end, but that's due to the HAPPY occasion of being pregnant, not the misery of fighting cancer. Somehow, that makes it so much worse to happen.
Now, I have no idea if what the doctors told me as a pregnant lady would be at ALL relevant, but they told me that proteins would stay down more than crackers or anything else, and sometimes I found that some cheese or whatnot would make me not barf. That's why I gained 60 lbs with Ariana's birth....I had to eat constantly to not barf half as much. Problem, though, is I doubt he FEELS like eating when he comes back...
is it every single day he suffers like that, or does he at least get a break on the weekends?
Hi Kira - he can't keep anything down at all - not even a sip of water. He just has to have a completely empty stomach from three hours before, to 7 hours after each treatment. And he still throws up continuously for a few hours - just bile and dry retching - it's horrible. But then, he can eat well in the mornings. I'm getting a prescription for some more powerful meds for him.
He gets a break on the weekends. It'll go on for just under 5 weeks. The doctor says that towards the end, and for a few weeks afterwards, he'll just end up being sleepy all the time. He's already so exhausted now!
You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
Sucks when ya dunno what to say, huh?
*hugs* and love to you both. Stay strong.
Ah Jezzy, that must be so hard to watch. Thanks for updating us on how you're both doing.

My sincere hopes for a speedy recovery...
Oh Jezzy I remember my mom going through that. I am so sorry for both of you sweetie! (((hugs))) for you.
Thanks for the update. There's no need to apologize for not blogging. You've got so much on your plate. I'm sending lots of prayers and good vibes your way.
I hope this year is better than your last, Jezzy, for you and your family.
Best wishes, love
Tamanna
