Ride with me!

So last Saturday I took Hubby to Luna Park.

It's funny, even though he's fit, active and sporty - he's terrified of rollercoasters and I never understood it.

So I told him that he needed practice - especially if we're going to have kids some day. He can't be a complete pussy around the liddle ones (you know, the person who stand there holding everyone's bags while they enjoy the rides).

So we bought unlimited ride tickets and I basically had to trick him to get onto the rides. (I realised that he had no experience whatsoever of theme parks - it's scary!) But because we were there in the evening, there were no lines, so I'd pull him onto something, they'd strap down the harness, and he'd say - "hang on, we're going to go upside down - HEY THE RIDE IS GOING TO GO UPSIDE DOWN!!!"

Funny thing was, he was even scared of the Ferris Wheel. lol

(I'm laughing because he's standing right behind me as I'm writing this and he's saying "Hey, stop teasing me.")

Oh - something that I'm proud of myself for - I finished a PhD chapter a week before my self-imposed deadline. That never happens to me!

Normally I think - "Must do [task] by [date]" and then proceed to take twice as long or worse. But I had a flash of inspiration last week and wrote and wrote and wrote. (Okay, I can be more honest than that. I can say, I was kinda depressed and had to pour myself into my work to distract myself or else I was going to think too much and get more upset. But hey, whatever works.)

So now, I don't have too much longer to go.
It feels good.

Oh - and Big Brother 6 started on Sunday night and I get totally addicted to that show. I really hope it doesn't get censored too much after all the controversy last year with all the claims that it was too explicit, too raunchy, and too much like soft porn. I thought it was totally shocking and loved it!

Non-fans can trash it all they like (I used to hate the show and thought myself totally above it - I thought it was absolute crap at first) but it's really a brilliant social experiment. This year's group are such self-absorbed, obnoxious people - they're going to tear each other apart.
Great TV.

Congrats on the advances on the PhD! Do you have an idea of when it'll be done now, or are you just taking one day at a time?
