The end is nigh...

For the first time in years, working on the PhD thesis isn't a chore!

I'm at the point where it's just fixing up words and reading through
it all, making sure things are okay. It's pretty cool!

It's been really tough. During the week, I think "I'll get some done
on the weekend." But there's always stuff to do on the weekends and I
can't let my husband stew around the place while I spend the entire
day on a computer. It's not good for the marriage! It's so beautiful
outdoors that we just have to get out and do something and by the time
we get home, I'm too exhausted to think about PhD-ing.

So I think "I'll have plenty of time during the week in the evenings."
But that never works out! First of all, I get emails from people
saying "we have to catch up - I haven't seen you in ages!!" and then
my parents come over all the time - or they invite us over! And then,
there's other things - random things - like our financial advisor came
over for dinner last week and we spent the whole evening talking about
investment strategies. It's boring as crap, and I spend the entire
time feeling guilty that I'm not PhD-ing.

But yayness! It's almost over! I'm going to feel weird and not know
what to do with myself. It'll be strange to be at home, doing nothing,
and not feel guilty...

(I just have to add - thanks heaps for the comments to my last post -
I get plenty of laughs from you guys - I'll reply to them next time
I'm online at home so be sure to check back. I'm also visiting all
your blogs too - but half of the comment I write from this computer
seem to get swallowed - which is very frustrating! x)
