Am pissed off at PhD supervisor for ignoring me and my pleas to get me
another examiner! Am submitting the stupid thesis next week.
Am stressed about buying the house because there's delays in the
finances and the settlement date is in less than a month and the
deposit should have been with the vendors a week ago and their
solicitors are harrassing our solicitors.
Am dumbstruck by the amount of stress we've gone through this year:
1. Hubby having cancer treatment.
2. Starting new job.
3. Finishing the PhD while working full time.
4. Hubby starting new job.
And now:
5. Buying a house.
6. Having to get tenants for our apartment which we're now vacating.
7. Having the long term tenants in our other apartment decide to leave
and having an argument with the property manager for that property.
8. Getting told that our deposit for the house will be with the
vendors everyday for the last week and now received angry letters
which it's not even our fault! Getting told our loan, which was
suposedly already organised, wasn't, in fact, organised.
9. Being ignored by the PhD supervisor and realising that if she
wasn't supportive over the last four years, she's not going to
suddenly start being supportive now.
10. Having no third thesis examiner when I've only got two weeks in
which to submit - this should have been organised 6 weeks ago.
11. Realising that no matter what I acheive in life, my parents will
always think me incapable of making my own decisions.
Gaah, gaah, gaah!!!

This is a very stressful list indeed. Maybe you're just getting it all over with in one year? Boy do I ever understand #11, except for me it extends to my siblings as well. It's frustrating to be the youngest of the family and have everybody think they need to "take care" of me because I obviously can't do all right on my own using my own brain and abilities.
With that list of ills in the past six months, I'm surprised you haven't done something drastic! I'll cross the appropriates that the second half of 2006 is much easier on you jezzy, you deserve a break.
You are an incredible individual who is fully capable of running, and surviving in, her own life.
*hugs*
Fuck 'em all.
