Not 21 again...

During the speeches at this 21st birthday party on Saturday night, there were many references to the birthday girl's antics during high school.

The person standing next to me said "Didn't you go to [insert name of high school]? Is that how you met [insert name of birthday girl]?"

To which I had to say "No. I think she was still in primary school when I was already at Uni."

And then I had one of those "omg, omg, omg - I'm getting old!" moments of panic and spent rest of the night looking for early signs of wrinkles in the fluorescent-lit bathroom mirrors.

But, you see, I also read this and it says that a woman is most beautiful between the ages of 25 and 35.

Apparently, 18 might be firm and pert but a woman that age is still an insecure girl, whereas 25-35 are the years of travel, marriage, babies and career - the exciting times where a woman knows who she is and her true worth. She is at the peak of her life emotionally, financially, style-wise and with regards to her lifestyle.

So yay - I am clearly in the midst of my peak!

Does this mean I can wait another seven years before I start panicking about getting older again?

Why wait seven years? ...lol

Jezzy, I've told you this before.....when girls turn 30 they go crazy, mid-life crazy-like...then after that they calm down and resign themselves to a slow decline.

Enjoy the next few years ;)

Then again, you don't have to fit any mould?

Here it comes......here it comes....your nineteenth nervous breakdown.....

PS a woman is most beautiful not between the ages of 25 & 35, but when she has a brain ;)

Yeah, I was pretty freaked about being 30, although I had no idea that I was at the time. I felt like I'd missed my youth since I'd become a mom so young, and I tried to make up for it or something. I agree with Painted Sky... it doesn't have to be between 25-35. (At least I hope not, as I'm 36, lol!) I think you make your prime whenever you want it to be by being smart, confident, and 100% totally the individual you were put on the earth to be. =o)

....ahem Ladies,
Pardon the interruption but being a male, and the tender age of 62.5 I might say simply, women who take care of themselves always look beautiful. One does not have to look like a model, nor a "vamp" (look it up!), but simply a "real person" Jadedprimadonna is right poise and confidence in oneself is all you really need to be a worthy human, man or woman. I know a few grandmothers with more on the ball than the "co-ed" cheerleader types. And Paintedsky is also spot on, a brain usually lasts a lot longer than "perky breasts", a set of long lashes, long blonde hair, and a tight skirt! After more than 40 years of marriage to the same woman I can tell you "LOVE CONQUERS ALL!" Believe it!

Yes Jezzy... wait another 7 years. Then you are into the "well I don't give a rats what you think anyway" phase and it doesn't matter anyway!!!

Jim - If a woman's brain is her most beautiful asset, I'm now going to get paranoid about becoming senile!

JPD - well, you're certainly still very beautiful so I guess the 25-35 theory can go down the drain!

Mr Guinness - you're such a classic romantic, aren't ya? That's very sweet. I can see I'm attracting the right kind of people to this humble blog.

GB - I like it - I'm looking forward to it!
