Five of the most exciting things to happen in my life lately...

1. Bananas became affordable again.

When I saw them at Aldi (I'm such a cheapskate) at $1.95 a kilo, I
bought loads of them!
Yay!
Banana cake, banana smoothies, bananas on my cereal, bananas as
wonderful energy lifting snack, bananas as healthy portable treat –
how I have missed you! May you never be affected by cyclones again!
I will never take you for granted!!
Mwah, mwah, mwah!

2. I lost 2kg. In two weeks.

For joy! A New Year's resolution working!

My main weakness is chocolate. I said I'd give it up for a month but
that has proven to be not possible for me. If I am to progress any
further (I want to lose at least another 7kg), I'll have to step it
up!

3. Lots of cuddles from Hubby.

Yayness!
Except that I still can't get up in the morning due to being stuck in cuddles.

It goes like this:

6.30am: Radio alarm goes off. Jezzy doesn't hear it, Hubby presses
snooze. Sleep.
6.40am: Radio alarm goes off. Jezzy ignores it, Hubby goes in for the
cuddle and presses snooze.
6.50am: Radio alarm goes off. Listen to radio. Love listening to
Merrick and Rosso on Nova (but hate that idiotic Sammy Lucas who makes
me want to change stations – she sounds so ignorant yet patronising.
Surely they could get a better female sidekick?)
More cuddle time.
7.00am: Listen to news update on radio.
7.05am: Hubby says to cuddle for one more song.
7.15am: Merrick and Rosso are so funny. lol
7.30am: Ooooh – I like that song. Cuddle more.
8.00am: Gaaaah!!!!! Am late! Am late! Am sposed to be at work in half an hour!

4. I hear that my three PhD examiners had actually all sent my thesis
back in December. Fantastic news! The reason for the delay is that one
neglected to fill in some form. Stupid red tape! Very eagerly awaiting
the feedback...

5. Have hangover. Nope that's not very exciting news. Speshly on
workday. Bleh. Woke up with that feeling of kittens giving birth,
vomiting, urinating and dying in my mouth while being left sitting on
a continuous merry-go-round. Wonder if anyone will notice if I have
short nap under my desk...

ooh, definately go the george hole under the desk. Nothing like it for a hangover. Although it does mean you need to get up close and personal with the carpet in your office. I don't know what it's like where you work, but not desirable where I do!

Yayness all around! Well, except the hangover. What were you drinking? Anything exciting?

And WOW! 2kg in two weeks! Fantastic. Congrats.

You already made me not take bananas for granted since that other post made me aware of the banana shortage in Australia. Trust Aldi's to have a cheap price on them first, though (we have Aldi's too).

My son's been begging me to make banana bread all evening, and you have inspired me to actually go do it! Hope you get the feedback soon!

Hehe, we were at ( large national shopping center chain ) yesterday and as the fruit and veg place is closing the owner is trotting around spruking "two dolla fifdy baanannaa" and my wife yells back, "two fiddy? you're dreamin'!" LOL

I think I am forming soime sort of conspiracy theory about the price of Oil and Bannanas being connected somehow, but I really haven't thought it through particularly well. Obviously...

Definitely take a nap under your desk. Drink loads of coffee. Take a long lunch.

Congratulations on the 2 kgs! If I were smart (and I'm not), I'd try to lose at least 15. :)
