Hubby's sister gave birth to a 3.2kg baby girl last Saturday. I
informed Hubby that it means he's not the baby of his family anymore.
He wasn't very happy about giving up that birthright!
Anyway, speaking of Hubby, things are just frustrating for him - for
us - at the moment. His new business has had some great opportunities,
but they can't grow as quick as they'd like as Hubby has a full-time
job and simply can't be there. And he can't give up his job to
concentrate on it, as we can't afford to lose his income (not if we
want a massive Sydney mortgage!)
And he hates his current job – his manager (a friend who brought him
over to the company a few months ago) resigned last week and his boss
is a real firecracker. A
All of that would be okay if he was doing well at work, but he's
working in sales and a couple of big jobs fell through last week. Plus
his clients from his previous company aren't following him across to
the new company. Plus he's selling in an increasingly competitive area
where many jobs are now lost to cheap overseas Asian companies. It's
very difficult to get new work and he's in Business Development.
But he can't leave his job until his own company starts bringing in a
lot more money and he can't make more money through his company
without the ability to put in more time on weekdays.
So what to do? Catch 22.
As for me, work has been getting better lately. It's busy and more
challenging which makes it pretty good. So sorry about the less
frequent posts - I still am reading you all!

Surely this is just because it's all new and the balance he needs will somehow just happen soon. There's nothing worse at work than having a boss who makes you miserable. I hope he's out of that situation, being his own boss full time, very soon.
Yeah, no this position all too well... trying to pay the bills while you build a new business from scratch in your "spare time".
Is it possible to find another gig... a two or three day retainer... something to cover basic expenses while devoting more effort to the new business? That's how I've been working it for a while now. Otherwise it's just really, really hard, and really, really sssssllllllow...
Here's hoping things turn around soon...
Wishing you lots of money!
